Dr. John Iliadis holds a PhD in Information Security from the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean , an MSc in Information Security from the Royal Holloway College, University of London, UK and a BSc in Information Systems Engineering from the Department of Informatics, Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece.
He is currently a Network Security Administrator with TEIRESIAS Banking Information Systems, Greece and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Laboratory of Information & Communication Systems Security, University of the Aegean, Greece.
Dr. Iliadis has been involved in national and EU-funded R&D projects in the areas of Information and Communication Systems Security. These research programmes include: ETIS-Agent, AGEDIS, DAEDALUS, TrainSEE, e-Court, SEMOPS, SECRETS, INSPECTOR, CRL Study (DG Enterprise), COSACC (DG XIII), EUROMED-ETS (DG XIII), and national programmes concerning PKI, Digital Signatures and Risk Analysis. He is actively involved in academic and professional information dissemination actions, and awareness programmes regarding Information Security.
His interests include Information and Communication Systems Security, Computer Security, Distributed Systems Security, e-Commerce and e-Business. His technical skills include system administration in a variety of Unix flavours and MS Windows platforms, and programming.
His published scientific work includes more than seventeen (17) journal and international conference papers. The focus of these publications is on Information and Communication Systems Security and Distributed Systems. He is a Member of the Greek Computer Society and a Member of the Association for Computing Machinery. He has reviewed papers for more than 29 conferences and journals.
